Why do I keep attracting the same sign

Someone new tells you their birthday and you laugh, because you already knew. Again. You count on your fingers, one, two, three, and it's the same sign.

Of course you start with the stars. It's the one thing you can point at. But look at how those first weeks go: everything is fast, everything is warm, they look at you like they've been waiting. By the second night you're getting the big questions. You feel picked, and it feels good. I'd go looking there too.

Maybe the sign is the name you gave to a feeling. Not the date on their ID, but that strong, quick beginning where you never have to wonder if you matter.

And what it costs is quiet: when the beginning shines that bright, the ordinary weeks after it feel like something went missing, and you wonder what you did. Does that sound like you, or not at all?
